After a series of successful and a break from Real Operations events at London's busy Gatwick Airport, it's time for another one!

Last decade saw many fantastic events for the UK's South East RTS; this decade we're going ever further.

This year there will be 16 hours of full air traffic control service from 0600Z to 2200Z, and 150 more bookable flights than last year. Last time, pilots said it was the busiest airspace they had ever flown in - but they've seen nothing yet! South East RTS and VATSIM-UK will take the world's busiest single runway airport to the foundations, and are attempting to make a VATSIM World Record: 550 bookable flights and movements in one day.

London-Gatwick (EGKK) is London's second largest international airport and second busiest in the UK. It has the world's busiest single-use runway and is Europe's leading airport for point-to-point flights.

There are over 90 destinations from Alicante to Zürich, from long haul flights to short haul flights, from business jets to airliners, and from luxury carriers such as British Airways to low cost carriers like Easyjet. We have it all!

Non-booked IFR traffic and VFR traffic is welcome, but subject to severe delays as booked IFR flights have priority.

The event is always extremely popular, book your flight(s) now to avoid disappointment. We hope to see you on Saturday 27th February 2010, for the record-breaking Gatwick Real Operations.

Book your flights here: http://realops.vatsim-uk.org/?ev=36

Please find attached the Pilots' Guide.

With just 3 weeks left, Over 25% of the flights booked, 75% (400 flights) left to book. Keep it up, get booking.

ONLY ONE EMIRATES FLIGHT LEFT!

Manch managed about 120 but we had a good spread throughout the day (about real world levels) so I wouldn't worry... people will definately fly regardless. Best of luck with the event folks!

Hello All,

A great opportunity has risen, Jacksonville ARTCC are supporting us during the real ops, so you will receive very high levels of atc at each end of the pond. http://www.zjxartcc...._event_186.html

I have spoke to the training department, and the pilots guide is a go.

Please read this before flying as the event is forecasted to be extremely busy. Thanks for your custom.

Thanks

Hi Tzvika,

This has been on the front page for about a day. Unfortunately the new VATSIM.net homepage only allows six events at a time to be shown. This has caused some of our past events, like the Six Nations last week, never to be shown. I am submitting our advertisements as early as possible but occasionally they will be shown late, or indeed never at all. I abhor the new system in this respect.

EDIT: Sorry! Misunderstood your post, I've added it on my forums.vatsim.net post - thanks

42% booked so far, only another 58% of flights to be booked, I think honestly we will hit maybe 75%, due to nobody seems to pick up the easyJets.

Long way to go but, the bookings are 30-40 a day at the moment, from a mear 8 on Tuesday :)

Since my new computer should be here by then, I've just booked four flights. I'm so glad nobody apart from me likes flying A300s.... gives me first dibs on them

Hi Jordan,

All pilots are welcome to Gatwick at anytime. Yes we are simulating a real ops, however, none booked pilots would be welcome. There may be some delays as booked pilots with a departure time may take priority but it's difficult to predict if and how long these may be until the time.
